The Greening Education Network Team announces that a three-day International Event on Greening Education will be held from 19th to 21st of October 2011 in the “green” city of Karlsruhe (Germany).
This event will bring together stakeholders from around the world to discuss the challenging issue of integrating sustainability across all academic disciplines. It will provide policy makers, senior faculty members, teachers and other stakeholders the opportunity to share and learn the latest in greening education, examine practical information on teaching and learning sustainability and deliberate on greening education models and programs developed and implemented in several countries.
Through presentations, formal and informal discussions and deliberations on topics such as the role of educational institutions in “going green”, sustainability in practice, greening human capital for sustainable economy and education for sustainability, the delegates will take back home knowledge to develop or intensify education for sustainability initiatives. Furthermore, the upcoming event will also provide an excellent networking opportunity with academia, international agencies, governmental and non-governmental organizations, sustainable development practitioners and other stakeholders in Europe and beyond.
An excursion (optional) on the 22nd of October 2011 is planned which will also provide an additional and informal networking opportunity.
You are cordially invited to attend this international event and/or nominate the member(s) of your institution.
